Created in 2008, iPoll is a standard survey site operated by the market research provider Dynata. In this review, we’ll provide an overview of the pros and cons and signing up for this survey platform.

Data Privacy: Any reason for concern?

iPoll is very clear about how they use your data, and how they share and protect it. IPoll’s privacy policy is very transparent regarding all the data they might collect about you. These include your name, email address, education, occupation, gender, and others. Whenever a survey collects sensitive data such as your sexual life, political views, race origin, and religion, iPoll will request your explicit consent first. They also give you the right to access the information they hold about you, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to delete and rectify your data. Dynata’s third-party partners may use your data to develop audience insights or models but all will be with your consent. iPoll is doing the best it can to conform with GDPR, which sets high standards for privacy protection in Europe.

How to get started

You must be at least 18 years of age in order to join iPoll. The only countries iPoll is still working in are the US, the UK, and Canada. You can visit their site and sign up from there or download the app and use it to sign up if you live in one of the three countries mentioned above. You can use your Facebook or LinkedIn account to just log in for iPoll. If you click the login button, it will ask you to log in via Facebook or LinkedIn. Once iPoll sees that your Facebook or LinkedIn account has not been registered yet, it will ask you whether you want to sign up using any of the platforms, and then just continue with the regular sign-up process.

What about the survey experience?

What’s unique about iPoll is that it encourages you to use their mobile app instead of the regular browser method to complete surveys but it allows you to still complete surveys using the regular browser by simply logging in to their site. Their app is available on both Android and Apple devices. One of their earning opportunities requires the use of a mobile device, you will really have to download the app at some point in order to maximize your earning potential. iPoll is a platform that is best suited for people who are always on the go as you can just install the app and take the surveys anytime and anywhere you want provided you have an internet connection on your mobile device.
