Norstat Panel Review

If you are looking for a way to earn some extra money online, you might have heard of Norstat Panel. Norstat Panel is a survey site that pays you for sharing your opinions on various topics. But is Norstat Panel worth joining? How much can you earn? And how does it work? In this review, I will give you an honest and detailed overview of Norstat Panel and help you decide if it is a good option for you.

Andrew: Andrew is one of our reviewers who’s been with HuginX the longest. With a background in membership support at one of the largest survey companies, Andrew has a lot of inside knowledge of the Market Research industry and has helped us refine our reviewing criteria. When Andrew is not working with reviews, he likes to go hiking with his dog Charlie.

What is Norstat?

The Norstatpanel is owned by the Norwegian market research company Norstat, headquartered in Oslo. Norstat is the most prominent research provider in Norway, and the company has expanded rapidly in Europe in recent years. Acquisitions include ODC, Userneeds and TestingTime. This is a consumer community that pays its members to share their data and opinions. Members complete surveys and receive “Norstat Coins” in return. These coins can be used for various rewards, including gift cards, coupons, and charity donations.

Is the Norstat panel legit?

Norstat is a well-established company that has been operating since 1997. It has offices in 18 European countries and works with reputable clients such as Coca-Cola, IKEA, and Spotify. It is also a member of ESOMAR, the global association for market research and data analytics. These are some positive signs that Norstat is a legit survey site.

However, there are also some drawbacks to Norstat that you should be aware of. First of all, the rewards are not very high compared to other survey sites. You can earn points for each survey you complete, but the points have a low value and can only be redeemed for gift cards or donations to charities. You cannot cash out your points for PayPal or other payment methods. Secondly, the surveys are not very frequent and you may not qualify for many of them. This means that it can take a long time to accumulate enough points to redeem a reward. Thirdly, the customer service is not very responsive and there are some complaints about missing points or delayed payments.

So, is Norstat a legit survey site? Yes, it is. But is it a good survey site? That depends on your expectations and preferences. If you are looking for a reliable and trustworthy company that offers surveys on interesting topics, you may enjoy Norstat. But if you are looking for a high-paying and fast-earning survey site, you may be disappointed by Norstat.

What is it like taking surveys on the Norstat Panel?

The surveys on Norstat are usually short and easy to complete, lasting between one and twenty minutes. The length of the study will be displayed on the invitation you receive. Longer surveys will have more incentives to complete them. In exchange for your opinions, you can earn points that can be exchanged for cash, gift vouchers, or donations. Norstat offers a recruit-a-friend program that enables its members to generate more leads.

What kind of rewards can I expect?

When taking surveys on Norstat, you’ll be able to earn Norstat’s virtual currency (“Norstat Coins”), which you can redeem through various options. The types of reward will to some degree, vary by country, but in general, you can expect to earn gift cards, coupons, sweepstake entries and different charity options. The minimum withdrawal amount is $5. You can also participate in a recruit-a-friend program to earn even more rewards.

In the Norwegian version of Norstat, respondents get 1 coin per minute, worth around 1 krone (NOK).

What about the survey experience?

In our experience, Norstat surveys are exceptionally well-matched in comparison with many other sites. Survey quality is also very good, with few just a few glitches now and then in survey design. We were able to qualify for roughly 2/3 of the surveys, which is excellent. We also like the fact that they let you opt out of surveys on sensitive topics, such as paid medical surveys for patients, which is a good sign that they take personal data protection seriously.

Reward options start from 20 coins (worth around 20 kroner, or 1.80 EUR), instantly accessible through a code displayed on the survey app.

Norstatpanel – Pros and Cons

Norstat is a serious market research company. If you are caught cheating or providing untruthful answers, you’ll risk losing your rewards.  Also, note that participation in Norstatpanel is by invitation only. Invitations for membership of Norstatpanel are issued in a random process and are not on request. This means that you can’t just head to the website and sign up.

Your reward is confirmed after you complete each survey.

Norstat Panel is a survey site that offers its members the opportunity to participate in various types of market research studies, such as online surveys, product testing, focus groups and more. The site claims to have over 600,000 panelists across Europe, and works with some of the biggest brands and organizations in the world. But is Norstat Panel worth joining? Here are some of the pros and cons of signing up for this survey site.

Pros:

  • Above-average incentive levels: Norstat Panel rewards its members with points for each survey they complete, which can be redeemed for gift cards from various retailers, such as Amazon, iTunes, Zalando and more. The points value varies depending on the length and complexity of the survey, but generally speaking, Norstat Panel offers higher incentives than many other survey sites. For example, a 15-minute survey can earn you 150 points, which is equivalent to 1.5 euros.
  • Good survey experience: Norstat Panel is known for having well-designed and user-friendly surveys, that are easy to complete on any device. The surveys are also relevant and interesting, as they match the members’ demographics and interests. Moreover, Norstat Panel respects its members’ privacy and does not share their personal information with third parties without their consent.
  • Interesting survey opportunities well matched with demographics and interests: Norstat Panel works with a variety of clients from different sectors, such as media, entertainment, health, education, politics and more. This means that members can expect to receive diverse and engaging survey invitations on topics that matter to them. Furthermore, Norstat Panel uses a sophisticated algorithm to ensure that members only receive surveys that suit their profile and preferences.
  • Free products sent home for testing (iHUT): One of the most attractive features of Norstat Panel is that it allows its members to test new products at home and share their opinions. These products can range from food and beverages, to cosmetics and household items. Members get to keep the products for free, and sometimes receive additional incentives for completing the feedback surveys.

Cons:

  • Support for users could be faster: One of the drawbacks of Norstat Panel is that its customer service is not very responsive or helpful. Some members have reported that they have experienced delays or difficulties in receiving their rewards, or that they have encountered technical issues with the surveys or the website. When they contacted the support team, they either received no reply, or a generic and unsatisfactory answer.
  • Many profiling questions to fill out: Another downside of Norstat Panel is that it requires its members to fill out a lot of profiling questions when they sign up, and to update them regularly. These questions cover various aspects of the members’ personal and professional lives, such as their income, education, hobbies, health conditions, etc. While these questions are meant to improve the survey matching process, some members may find them intrusive or tedious to answer.
  • Not possible to sign-up for the panel unless invited: Norstat Panel is not open for anyone to join. The only way to become a member is to receive an invitation from an existing panelist or one of Norstat’s partners. This means that potential members have no control over when or how they can join the site, and may miss out on some of the benefits that Norstat Panel offers.
  • No cash incentives: Lastly, Norstat Panel does not offer cash rewards for its members. The only option to redeem the points earned from completing surveys is to exchange them for gift cards from selected retailers. While some members may appreciate the variety of gift cards available, others may prefer to receive cash payments via PayPal or bank transfer.

Disclosure – How we make money

We built HuginX around our core principles of openness, honesty and transparency. Your trust is of the utmost importance to us, which is why we’ll always be straight-up about how we review sites.

When it comes to running our website, we want to be entirely upfront about how we operate, how we make money, and how we keep the site a free resource for our millions of visitors. We don’t accept payment to provide positive reviews, and providers will never have a say in how we choose the best sites. Our aim is to put you, the reader, first and foremost at all times.

A list of practices we never engage in:

  1. We will never accept money to review a product
  2. We will never accept money to change a product review
  3. We will never accept money to turn a blind eye to an issue or flaw
  4. We will never accept money to bias our research or investigations

So, how do we make money? We receive fees from some of the sites we refer subscribers to. These fees are also known as affiliate commissions. When you click on a link or a button that takes you to a provider’s website such as a survey site, we may receive compensation for having referred a new sign-up.

Referral fees are only negotiated after we’ve fully conducted our review, meaning that money plays no factor in the process. Referral fees do not impact our review ratings and recommendations. The compensation we receive may, however, influence how, where, and in what order products appear in our paid search comparison pages, which are separate from our editorial content. These contain ad listings, and can only be accessed via search engine advertisements.
