Panelpolls Review

Panelpolls is a niche survey site primarily aimed towards parents of children under 18 years old. In return for their opinions, parents and children can earn virtual rewards that can be exchanged for gift cards such as Amazon. In this review, we are taking a closer look at the pros and cons of signing up for Panelpolls.

Who can join?

PanelPolls is a US-only survey site and has certain eligibility criteria for individuals who wish to become members. The site is only open to adults aged 18 years or older, including those who are parents of children between the ages of 0-17. However, even those who meet the eligibility requirements may not be granted membership due to panel size restrictions.

For parents who want their children to participate in the surveys, consent is required for children between the ages of 6-17 years old. Multiple children from the same household can be registered for the site.

Surveys primarily intended for children

PanelPolls’ activities primarily involve requesting brief surveys to be completed via email for which points will be credited to the participant’s household account.

It’s important to note that invitations for these surveys will be sent to the parent’s email address, even if they are intended for the child. The child’s participation only requires that they are given the link to the survey. Although these surveys are designed to be enjoyable and easily understood, they might require assistance from parents when filling them out.

How much can I earn with PanelPolls?

PanelPolls offers rewards to members who complete surveys and other eligible activities. However, these rewards come in the form of virtual points that accumulate in a member’s account and can only be redeemed periodically for electronic gift cards. Members must earn a minimum of 10,000 points, equivalent to $10 before they can redeem their points for a gift card.

While members have the opportunity to earn up to $300.00 depending on the project type, the conversion rate is 1,000 points = $1.00 (USD). Members may receive opportunities to participate in other paid research activities, including online communities, focus groups, in-person sessions, mobile app and game tests, TV show pilot tests, and movie screenings.

Is it legal for PanelPolls to ask children to participate in online surveys?

Yes, it is legal to ask children to participate in online surveys in the US, but there are specific rules and regulations that must be followed to ensure the safety and protection of children’s privacy. The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a federal law that regulates the collection and use of personal information from children under the age of 13.

The law requires websites and online services to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children, including their name, address, email address, and other identifying information. COPPA also requires that companies clearly explain their data collection practices and obtain parental consent before sharing any information collected from children with third parties.

PanelPolls, like other survey websites, is required to comply with COPPA regulations when collecting information from children under the age of 13.

Disclosure – How we make money

We built HuginX around our core principles of openness, honesty and transparency. Your trust is of the utmost importance to us, which is why we’ll always be straight-up about how we review sites.

When it comes to running our website, we want to be entirely upfront about how we operate, how we make money, and how we keep the site a free resource for our millions of visitors. We don’t accept payment to provide positive reviews, and providers will never have a say in how we choose the best sites. Our aim is to put you, the reader, first and foremost at all times.

A list of practices we never engage in:

  1. We will never accept money to review a product
  2. We will never accept money to change a product review
  3. We will never accept money to turn a blind eye to an issue or flaw
  4. We will never accept money to bias our research or investigations

So, how do we make money? We receive fees from some of the sites we refer subscribers to. These fees are also known as affiliate commissions. When you click on a link or a button that takes you to a provider’s website such as a survey site, we may receive compensation for having referred a new sign-up.

Referral fees are only negotiated after we’ve fully conducted our review, meaning that money plays no factor in the process. Referral fees do not impact our review ratings and recommendations. The compensation we receive may, however, influence how, where, and in what order products appear in our paid search comparison pages, which are separate from our editorial content. These contain ad listings, and can only be accessed via search engine advertisements.

Panelpolls Review Summary
If you're a family looking to earn extra money from taking surveys, PanelPolls is a great option. Spending time with your kids taking surveys can be both rewarding and educational, and the interface is really easy to navigate. On the negative side, taking surveys can be time-consuming, and children may not always have the attention span to focus on the survey subject. However, on the positive side, Panelpolls does a good job designing surveys that are child-friendly and do not contain inappropriate content.
